Do you feel flawless? Because I certainly don’t. I actually know for a fact that I am full of flaws, and I haven’t had a problem realizing it lately either. The devil just seems to keep pointing them out, trying to drag me down into feelings of unworthiness. And to make it worse, I know I’m not worthy either. None of us, by our own good deeds are worthy of God’s love. I fall short of God’s glory daily, no matter how hard I try.
Are you beautiful on the inside? Personally, I know my heart has some ugliness in it no matter how hard I try to get rid of those feelings. We are flawed, unworthy, and filled with ugliness on our own. It’s a sad story. But, don’t stop reading. The story gets so much better!
Because of Jesus, and only because of Jesus, we are considered WORTHY, CHOSEN, and BEAUTIFUL by God. Because Jesus died on the cross and took away our sins, God can consider us worthy. Worthy of his love and guidance and worthy of eternal life. He chose to save us from our sin, and when we choose to accept his offer of salvation, we become beautiful and precious in his sight. There’s nothing we can do about it. All because of Jesus, we are given these amazing gifts. We can’t make ourselves worthy of eternal life. We can’t just choose God because He has already chosen us. We can’t make ourselves beautiful, no matter what the world says about beauty. ONLY Jesus can do these things, and for me, that is such a big comfort. I need to stop striving for worthiness, beauty, and acceptance and live into the fact that God has already given me these precious gifts long before I was born.
God’s love for us is almost like a love story: Just like Solomon’s love for his bride in Song of Songs, God overlooks our flaws and sees perfection in us. We try to cover ourselves in worldly beauty, forgetting that the God who made us declared us beautiful and flawless from the beginning of time.
“You are altogether beautiful my darling, there is no flaw in you.” – Song of Songs 4:7
Do you believe that God could see you like that? It’s so crazy, but so true.
He made us how he did for a reason, and we need to start realizing that we were made in the image of God. We were made wonderfully and shaped in the hands of the same Almighty God who breathed the stars into place. How cool is that?
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” – Psalm 139:14
I hope you realize that you are worthy, chosen, and beautiful.
Father, thank you for creating us so wonderfully, and for sending Jesus so we could be seen as worthy to you. Thank you for choosing to save us and make us beautiful. Help us to embrace the fact that you created us exactly how you wanted us, and there is not a flaw in your beautiful creation. You make beautiful things out of us, and for that we are so thankful. We love you. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
This song is so beautiful and goes great with the post. Watch at least a minute of it. Listen to the lyrics. God is making you beautiful. He is making you new.
